North Carolina Mom Megan Symone Scott Charged After High-Speed Crash Kills Her 3 Sons

A Fayetteville mother is facing serious charges after a police chase ended in a horrific crash that killed her three young sons. Authorities say 31-year-old Megan Symone Scott was involved in a heated argument with her boyfriend over money. She allegedly bit him and tried to run him over with her car before fleeing.
During the pursuit, Scott reached speeds of about 111 mph in her Kia Forte with her children — ages 3, 6, and 8 — inside. None were in car seats or wearing seatbelts. She crossed the center line on State Road 53, overcorrected, and slammed into a tree. The impact ejected her and two of the boys from the vehicle. Two died at the scene; the third was airlifted but later succumbed to injuries.
Scott is being held without bond and faces three counts of involuntary manslaughter plus additional charges. Her next court date is July 7. Family members have started a fundraiser for the boys’ burial, describing the loss as “unimaginable.”
The tragedy has devastated the community and highlighted the devastating consequences of reckless actions.
