6-Year-Old Wisconsin Girl Bitten by Rabid Bat — Brave Brothers Kill Creature with Homemade “Braveheart” Sword

TIGERTON, Wisconsin — A 6-year-old girl was bitten by a rabid bat while playing outside her family’s home — and her quick-thinking brothers sprang into action, ultimately killing the animal with a homemade sword inspired by the movie Braveheart.

Cecilia “Cece” Kale was on a tree at her home last week when the bat swooped in and bit her on the left thigh. Her brothers, Nicklas, 11, and Camden, 16, immediately intervened, swatting the bat away before finishing it off with a makeshift blade modeled after the 1995 Mel Gibson film.

The girl’s mother, Elizabeth Kale, shared the dramatic details of the incident.

Cece is receiving medical treatment, including rabies shots, following the bite. The family is grateful for the brothers’ bravery in protecting their sister.

This story highlights both the dangers of wildlife encounters and the courage of siblings looking out for one another.

Our thoughts are with little Cece as she recovers from the frightening ordeal.
