Australian Man Arrested in Thailand Following Death of Teenage Girl
Thai authorities have arrested a 45-year-old Australian man as part of an investigation into the death of a 17-year-old girl whose body was discovered inside a suitcase in Pattaya.
Police identified the suspect as Simon Carman, from Ballarat, Victoria. He was taken into custody on Friday evening at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok as he was preparing to leave the country.
According to investigators, the victim, Tunchanok Donhomla, was reported missing after friends said she failed to return after entering a condominium with a foreign national.
As part of the investigation, police reviewed CCTV footage that allegedly shows a man leaving the condominium while pulling a large suitcase before transporting it on a motorcycle toward a nearby railway area.
Authorities later recovered a suitcase near the railway tracks and identified the deceased as Tunchanok Donhomla. Forensic specialists continue to examine the evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police have charged Carman in connection with the case. The allegations will be considered through the Thai judicial process, and authorities have not released further details regarding the evidence while the investigation remains active.
The case has attracted significant public attention in Thailand, with investigators continuing to gather witness statements, review surveillance footage, and conduct forensic examinations.
Officials have urged the public to rely on verified information released through official channels as legal proceedings continue.
